Welcome to the Photo Challenge signup page.

The idea is simple: Take a photo every 2 weeks on a specific topic.

Every 2 weeks, you'll get to (anonymously) vote on the photos entered by the participants, and the winning photographer will get to choose the topic for the next challenge.

We're aiming to keep the topics as broad and abstract as possible, to allow creative interpretation and interesting photos. Topics shouldn't be too specific (e.g. "Tennis Ball") but should be much more general (e.g. "Red", "Water", "Old", "Fun", etc).

There are a few, simple rules:

1. The photograph must be taken by yourself within the 2 week period of the Topic being announced, and entries closing.
2. The photograph should relate somehow to the topic. Tenuous links are allowed.
3. The photograph can be post-processed and edited, but this shouldn't substantially change the photo entered.
4. One entry per participant per challenge is allowed. You can change the photo as many times as you like before the closing date, but only the latest image will be eligible for voting.

The challenge will follow a fairly leisurely schedule. 2 weeks to take a photo, 7 days to vote on the entries, and 5 days for the winner to choose a new topic. This means the voting and topic choosing are going on while the next challenge takes place.

We have a supply of topics from which a random topic will be chosen should the winner not submit a new topic in time, so the challenge is not held up if people are away or too busy to participate, so there's no pressure to continually check the site or your email

So that's the theory anyhow. As ever, if something the format doesn't work, we'll mess around with it till it does. We're busy working on the challenge website, so it will morph into something more functional (and good looking) soon.
